| (click image to enlarge) On "Boxing" day, December 26th, 2000 I was blessed with a large healthy litter of 7 males and 5 females from the breeding of Sire: Am./Can. Ch. Pin Oak Robert E. Lee, JH to Dam: Am./Can. Ch. Pin Oak Velvet Touch. I'm so, so grateful to so many people for their support. It started with a long search to find a foundation bitch, completing her AKC and Canadian championships and then ensuring her health and suitability for breeding before selecting the proper stud. Finally we had a mountain of questions for whelping such a large litter.I want to thank Don & Marilyn Shaver for their unconditional love and support not only with this particular endeavor but for their long lasting devotion to the Irish Setter breed. In addition, I want to thank Craig Cooper, Paula Dempsey, Shirley Culpin, Michael Goldman, Joan Viola, Paula Sadler, Kelly Woodworth, Lynn Caragol and Carol McGarry for their knowledge and experience of showing, breeding, raising and placing puppies with good homes. There are many others, too many to mention, who have been kind and gracious to us along the way. We hope you know who you are and that we've shown proper gratitude throughout. Finally, a special thanks goes to Jim & Nancy Godbey for selling Am./Can. Ch. Pin Oak Velvet Touch "Vanessa" to me as a 4 month old puppy. I spent close to 3 years searching across the country to find a breeder willing to sell us something very nice in order to fulfill our desire to resurrect Summit Rise Irish Setters. Best Regards, Laura Root |
